What are Packs & Dens?

Cub Scouts belong to a Pack, which is chartered to an organization. Pack 98 is chartered by West End Methodist Church.

Each Pack belongs to a District, Pack 98 is part of Dogwood District located within the Occoneechee Council.

Each Pack is divided into Age (grade)appropriate Dens:

Tiger Den - 1st grade

Wolf Den -  2nd grade

Bear Den -  3rd grade

Webelos I Den -   4th grade

Webelos II Den - 5th grade

Packs normally meet once a month during the school year (plus special activities during the summer). Special awards and recognitions that the boys have earned are presented at this time, as well as important announcements. Dens are able to perform skits or sing silly songs at most Pack meetings.

Dens usually meet on a weekly basis, except for Tiger Cubs, who generally meet 2-3 times per month.

Parent participation is encouraged in all the ranks. A parent or adult chaperone is required to attend with Tiger Cubs at all meetings and events.
